Getting Started: To start up the World Wide Web browser type netscape. The first time you use Netscape, an agreement window will pop up. Click accept with the mouse and a Netscape window will appear. The Netscape homepage will load when you first start up.
Moving Around: You can move from page to page on the web by clicking on any underlined (and highlighted on color monitors) text. Or, if you know the address of a particular page you can enter it in the Location box near the top of the window. MTU's homepage is at http://www.mtu.edu/ and CEC's is at http://www.cec.mtu.edu/. You can also use the Back and Forward buttons to return to pages you have already looked at and can set Bookmarks on pages you may want to return to often.
Search Engines: There are various mechanisms available to search the internet. If you are looking for information on a particular topic click the Net Search button and choose a search engine to find related web sites.

Print - prints the current webpage
Stop - halts the loading of a webpage
Reload - reloads the current webpage
Your Own Homepage: You can create your own homepage. Homepages are written in HTML. There are many resources available on the web about creating a homepage.
