Accounts and Passwords
IT provisions and manages most of the computer accounts and passwords on campus. We help our users get accounts to our systems, reset passwords, etc. The campus features the Initial Signon System (ISO), which allows a single username and password to be used to access most of the electronic resources available to the campus community.
Campus Software Systems
MTU's IT organization supports a rich set of software systems, ranging from the campus ERP system, Banner, to over 300 desktop applications deployed in computer labs and offices, and research facilities on- and off-campus.
Desktop, Computer Lab, and Laptop Support
We support the desktops and laptops of every faculty and staff on campus, as well as all of the computer labs, kiosks and public workstations on campus.
Printing on Campus
We run the campus printing infrastructure, including printing in labs, large format printing (plotting), etc.
Storage, Quotas, and Data Recovery
IT offers a central home directory and shared disk space service, which includes security back-ups and restores.
Wired and Wireless Networking
The Telecommunications department develops, operates, and manages the campus network (MTUNet) and Internet access at Michigan Tech.
