Michigan Tech's Electronic Display System (EDS) provides university announcements, emergency messages, local weather, and news headlines on video monitors deployed across campus. The information is also available on Michigan Tech's Cable TV Channel 4.
How to Submit Information for the EDS
University departments, groups, and student organizations registered by the Student Activities office may request the use of the EDS for the display of information pertaining to their campus activities. This includes concerts, lectures, sporting and cultural events, and special group meetings.
A minimum of three days notice is required for processing requests. Messages (not more than 60 words) will be displayed for a maximum of two weeks, unless prior approval is obtained. We will review requested messages to ensure that they are consistent with the purposes for which the EDS is made available, and reserves the right to reject or modify messages that are not. Messages will be displayed in the following order of priority:
- Emergency announcements
- General campus announcements
To request a message be displayed on the EDS please send e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. The following information should be included in the request:
- Date(s) to be displayed
- Name of requestor
Please also include additional details about the event such as who, what, when, and where. The actual text and layout may be modified to meet video display requirements. Contact EDS for more information.
